I love garage sales! Every Saturday morning I leave the house at around 7:30 am and go to garage sales until about 9:30 or 10:00 am. Most garage sales start at 8:00 am but they have everything out before then. There are a surprising number of people going around to sales at 7:30.
I just travel around a set route in my area of town. Occasionally I will go further for somethign special, but I generally don't go far.
By 10:00 am everything is very picked over and there's not much left. On the other hand, what is there can usually be had for a song later in the morning. No one wants to bring their stuff back inside at the end of the day.
Street and neighborhood sales are the best! You can park in one place and go to several in a short period of time. Time is important. I go as fast as I can, trying to get to as many garage sales as possible before they are picked over.
I leave with a list of specific things I am looking for but I do usually buy other things, not on the list, as well.
Today I bought all of this for my wine making. I found three boxes of wine bottles, 3 wine jugs of various sizes, corks and plastic cork covers. I also bought a pair of genuine leather gloves, a new bottle of conditioner, a good shovel, a scarf, fertilizer and wire for the dog fence, all for $7.00!!
I love garage sales!!!

You did great. Love the green bottles. If you have a recycling center nearby, check with them. They seem to always have the gallon jugs and wine bottles.

Horse showing has cut in on my junkin. But have a month break and plan to take advantage of it.
I am starting a new part time job where I will be working every other Sat at 9 am. That's going to cut into some of it. I will still go for a bit on the way to work!
