Painting Greeting Cards

I have started painting greeting cards. I finished the first one last week and have done several since then. It's a good "stay awake" thing to do while watching TV in the evening.

I am trying to move my circadian schedule forward a bit by forcing myself to stay awake later at night so I will, hopefully, sleep later in the morning. Most of my adult, over 40 life I have been waking up naturally around 4:30-5:00 am. Since I started staying up until 11:00 pm at night, I can now sleep until 6:00 am! Most people are shocked that I wake up by myself at or before 6 am every morning. I go outside some mornings and garden in the dark but it's ok because we have no neighbors. When we lived in the city we had close neighbors and I still gardened in the wee dark hours before dawn. Yes, the neighbors thought I was a bit "odd"...

All of this to say that I have to do something in the evenings to stay awake or I'll be sleeping in front of the movie at 9:00 pm. Painting is an ideal evening job. Crochet works ok too, as does making up seed packages. If I had a fiber farm, I'd be spinning :-)

Here are a few of the cards that I have painted this past week.

I have printed "Hand Painted by Sheryl Gallant" on the back of most of them. A few of the have this hand written. One has a small scene painted at the bottom of the back. I liked the printing best, so I did the rest of the cards that I had that way.

I have the best ones for sale on
my farm site.

I also want to make some handpainted custom Christmas tree balls and fridge magnets with a name painted on them and the year.

It's a new and fun hobby!

I go them Clayton! Thank you so much! I sent you an email :-)

Thanks everyone! I'm having fun painting them!

If I can't sleep, I don't worry about it anymore. Just get up and do something productive with the time.
