Declutter, Clearing Out, Downsizing

It is truly a liberating experience to rid oneself of material possessions! It is something that I, as a hoarder, do occasionally anyway, when I get tired of the clutter. Now I am doing it on a big scale, getting ready to move into our camper. Things are flying out of here at an amazing rate of speed and everything is going! I love it when people come to see something and just buy it, without haggle, without question and are thrilled to get it! This has happened so often lately that I know the Lord's hand has to be in this move. Things are moving along so fast, so smooth and trouble free, so far. I keep waiting for the thing that's going to sink it, but so far it hasn't arrived yet. It still seems like a dream that I will wake from any time!

Sometimes it's hard to get rid of things but I am being strong. One thing I'm having some question about is my 1916 WWI whistle ( see top picture). It's stamped "1916 J. Hudson & Co Birmingham". It's such a little thing and I can use a safety whistle but I can get a cheap one that works just as well as a dollar store, so I'm selling this one. I gave it a lot of thought and I would really rather have the money, so I put it on EBay. USA. Both are 12" x 16" on stretched canvas and sealed.

I have been successfully selling a lot of little odds and ends on EBay and Kijiji. They have both been a great help, as has Freecycle! For those of you who don't know what Freecycle is, you should look into it, especially if you are near a good sized city. It's amazing! It's a local yahoo Group, and there is one for every large city, where you can post things you are giving away and things you want. It's a free exchange site. Everything has to be completely free, no trading, no money, nothing. Some of the things offered on there are incredible but you have to be fast! Some of the stuff I have been giving away on Freecycle is worth a good bit of cash but I just don't have the time or desire to sell it properly.
I have been selling my jewelry on EBay. I also bought jewelry findings. I'm going to continue to make jewelry and hair forks and sell them.

I did have a large garage sale. That's helps too! I LOVE garage sales, hence the reason I have so much "stuff"...

I enjoy unloading things! It's a great feeling to be free of the weight! Your possessions really do own you and tie you down! If we decide we like a particular place and want to live there, we will settle down but I won't be accumulating this much "stuff" again! (I mean it this time...)

We've cleaned up a lot this past year. Put a lot of stuff in the enclosed and sold out of it a couple of times. Was really surprised at how much we made.
