We have unloaded most of our material possessions, including the farm, and gone mobile! We now live off grid in our RV full time and love it! Continue to read about our experiences living off-grid in our same DIY fashion in Western Canada!
I'm looking forward to seeing the project progress :o)Rose H
Sounds like you are on your way
Using an old treadmill motor as a generator is more efficient, but it’s also about being creative and resourceful. It’s been months since this post; I bet everything is doing great as of now. Please allow us to witness the fruition of your creative project! =)
Hi Kurt! The treadmill turned out great and worked well but we had mounting issues. Since we are living at a place in the northern Rockies of BC at the moment (winter), we are not living in our camper at present. We are hoping to drive away to a warmer climate to camp again very soon. When we do, we are considering going with enough solar to meet our meager needs, instead of the treadmill. The windmill is very heavy and needs to be mounted above our small light camper to benefit from the wind. It would be more easily used in a cabin or house where it can be set up on the roof or attached to the house.
