I am having a lot of fun re-fashioning clothing. This is a new fad called "upcycling". I like it!
I bought five plain ordinary T-shirts, all the same (green, of course), with the plan to re-fashion a couple of them into longer tunic styles. I got them at a fantastic price and they are pretty good quality.
This one is the first one that I made. I cut the bottom off of one and added it to the bottom of another to make it longer. I then cut narrow strips from the cut T-shirt to make the twisted bling. I also gathered the existing sleeves.

This is the second one. I unraveled a too tight sweater to use for the crocheted sections. Making crocheted lace is no different than making doilies, just larger. I shortened the sleeves before adding the crocheted edging. I enjoyed making it! I find crocheting to be a good stress relief.
Both turned out very well, fit perfectly and are so comfortable!

Very creative! You did a wonderful job.
I like it!! I am short and do not need the added length, but I changed the neckline on some plain t's. I felt like I was choking in them. They were seconds, and super cheap. I took a shirt I liked and cut the neckline out to match it. Then I cut 2" slits along the neckline 1" apart. Do not cut through, leave about 1/2" of shirt around the neckline. I started at the shoulder seam and just pull the first 1" strip under the one behind it and over. Pull the next strip through that one and continue that way until you have made it around. Handstitch the last one in place. It should have a nice braided look.
That sounds interesting Kathy! These have a high neckline that I would like to change.
I am almost 100% visual...I need pictures ;-)
